This is what I wanted for so long: see the third part. The end of the triology. Sail once more with Captain Jack. Feel the rush, the action, the adventures, the adrinaline. Be once more a part of his crew. For one more time before we would sail towards the waterfall...
To be honest: I didn't expect 'At World's End' to be good. Not after seeing 'Dead Man's Chest'. Because after seeing DMC I was a tad dissapointed. I expected more and that is why I didn't want to put my hopes too high for AWE.
But once in the cinema, my mind got blown away. Complicated but absolutly amasing plotlines, wonderful action scenes and of course: what would 'Pirates of the Caribbean' be without Captain Jack's humour and wit?
Yes, I said the plotlines were complicated. But they weren't too complicated. Therefor I do not agree with many critics who say the movie was hard to understand.
You have to use your brain to get the movie and the intentions of the characters. But why not take the challenge and try to figure out a pirate's brain?
The most pleasant surprise for me was Captain Turner. In the previous movies he had been more of the softy, the babyface. Not anymore. Betrayal all over the place. Finally he turned into the real pirate which Elizabeth said he was already - in 'Pirates 1'.
Keith Richards cameo was amusing and he did a great job as Captain 'Jacky' Sparrow's dad. His part was small but entirely fitted into the scene.
This last movie of the triology is darker. Much darker compared to the other two movies. Personally I think that that surely is a good thing. It makes it more mature.
I give 'Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End' 9.5/10 points. I won't give it ten, because at the end the Tia Dalma scene kinda freaked me out. It didn't look good and it was weird that she turned into a giant big foot.
For me Captain Sparrows story is not over yet. I will wait and hope that he will take me aboard once more. Since I am sure that there are more stories that want to be told, more oceans that have to be sailed, more battles to be fought.
