It was later that night when Hear walked into Jack's quarter's to find him looking over a map.
"You're still up?"
"Just looking at my previous courses." Hear walked to the table where Jack was sitting and placed his compass on the table. "Now you can chart your next one," she said and stood behind him.
"You're just GIVING it to me?"
"Of course. I have no more use for it."
"I just thought you'd use it as a bargaining chip."
"I do have a bargaining chip. It's just not your compass." Jack smiled, and then went back to his map. Hear started rubbing his shoulders and asked "Why did you kill him; my cousin?"
"Because he was going to kill you," replied Jack, enjoying the gesture.
"Jack, I didn't know you cared," said Hear sarcastically.
"I don't. If he killed you, how would I get Davie Jones's heart?" "Oh," Hear quickly stopped rubbing Jack's shoulders and started making her way for the door, but it was too late; she was gone.
"How could I have been so stupid!" Hear said to her first mate, tears pouring out of her eyes.
"He's a pirate, as are we all. You just can't give your heart to a man like that."
Sighs "Maybe you're right. Well, it's no use crying about it!" Hear said, wiping her tears. "Thank you," she said hugging her first mate.
"Well I couldn't tell her the REAL reason I saved her bloody life!" shouted Jack to Will. "You love her, don't you? Asked Will . "I do NOT!" replied Jack, who then sat in a chair and put his head in his hands.
"You don't have to hide your feelings."
"Why would I hide feelings I don't have?" asked Jack lifting his head. "You love her, and you should show it!" exclaimed Will. Jack got up roughly, causing his chair to fall over; got close to Will and said rather harshly ", do not tell me what I do and don't feel."
